Stage Releases.
The Vision.
The vision for the future is to achieve a high-quality, liveable environment. One that integrates with developments that exist within its proximity and takes full advantage of the site’s coastal location. Stretton will create an energetic and diverse community that adds to the existing vibrancy of Torquay and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Transport.
The roads throughout Stretton have been designed to ensure streamlined connectivity with existing networks bringing together Torquay via Horseshoe Bend Road, Surf Coast Highway and Fischer Street. Stretton Drive will continue to be constructed to connect all three major thoroughfares.
A proposed bus route link will run through the middle of the Estate providing access to the civic precinct facilities and the educational facilities within Stretton.
Open Space.
Areas of wetlands and conservation reserves have been identified in the overall masterplan for Stretton. The open space is part of a landscape vision with open spaces connected by safe networks of shared pathways and green corridors that transition and connect Torquay.
Housing.
A range of housing types is promoted to suit the diversity of residential needs. To achieve this goal and to reflect the existing coastal character of the Torquay & Jan Juc areas, the Stretton Design Code has been developed to guide future development within the Estate. The Code aims to control architectural form and landscaping objectives, ensuring harmony and cohesion in design.
